Celebating 100days at school with room1

Mrs Strange invited us to their party celebrating 100 days at school.  We had party hats and party food and very full stomachs at the end.

Homemade butter

We are looking at comparing kitchens from the past and the present and looking at the different foods. We made homemade butter using a marble in a jar and putting cream in it and shaking it. We compared it to the supermarket butter and 95percent of the children liked the homemade butter best.

Term 3 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Welcome back to Term 3, I hope you have had a fantastic break.

We have a great term planned.  For our science topic we will be looking at the physical and chemical changes in kitchens between   the past and the present.  We have a planned visit to Broadgreen Historic House in which we will be seeing a kitchen from the 1850s.  For art we will making Batiks using screen printing.  For Christian devotions we will be seeing God has our source.  We will be learning large ball skills for physical education and will be involved in a junior syndicate rotation  learning rugby, basketball, netball and soccer.

The reading programme will continue with your child taking a book home from Monday to Thursday to read to you.  Can you please sign their yellow reading book once you have heard them read.  They will also have a phonics letter or blend in their homework book which they will need to copy the words that are written.  Twice a week I will be sending home a maths sheet for them to complete.  Also in their homework book I will put in a sheet with the essential word lists which the children need to learn to recognize.  These sight words will help your children to improve in their reading and writing.

Also just a reminder that newsletters will now be going digital this term, so please keep an eye on our blog for them.

I am looking forward to a successful and enjoyable term.  If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to come and see me.
